Guest Blog: Photography at UBC Boathouse with Stefanie Fournier Photography

Hi, I’m Stef. As half of a photographer & videographer team based in Greater Vancouver, I get the pleasure of working with a variety of vendors on wedding days. We also know that having quality professionals with a strong teamwork ethic is incredibly important in order to have the day run smoothly. I’ve personally known Maureen for a few years now and she is one of our favourite wedding coordinators to work with – her friendly, approachable attitude and professionalism is top notch. This was no different as she and her team excelled at Naomi & Anthony’s wedding last year.

With a late October wedding they were planning on a day full of rain but luckily we got a gorgeous sunny day, which was perfect for their wedding at UBC Boathouse in Richmond. If you haven’t been there, it’s basically a floating venue right on the water. The planes fly by, there’s huge windows inside for amazing views and the ceremony space is on a floating cement slab, a few wrong steps and you end up in the water, but it doesn’t get any closer than that! Having an affinity for waterside ceremonies ourselves, this was a treat! I had been wanting to photograph at UBC Boathouse for awhile so when they had decided on it for their venue, I was stoked! When we had recommended Emerald Events to the couple, I know that they would enjoy the venue as well and make it look it’s best.

Naomi and Anthony just easy fit together and that’s how the day went. Naomi’s desire for details – especially with a Disney touch – made this day extra magical. With their loyal bridal party by their side, this day just felt smooth and radiated love and laughter throughout. Maureen and her team managed to put all those details into play perfectly and help keep the day stress free and with ease.

Here are some photos from the day and if you want to check out our full blog post – head over to our website here.
