Principle
Maureen draws on her experience, as well as her ongoing dedication to professional excellence through education and training, to ensure successful – and very special – events. She diligently meets the objectives of her clients through astute strategic planning, exceptional attention to detail, as well as industry connections and behind-the-scenes know-how that assure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Maureen has taken her passion for the event industry and is a board member of the Fraser Valley Event Planning Association and an active Member of CanSPEP
Maureen’s expertise in event planning has well-established roots. For over 15 years she held a position as general manager of a multimillion-dollar service organization where she led a team of up to 55 staff.
Her keen business sense and entrepreneurial spirit led her to play a key role in the establishment of a company that managed events at one of BC’s largest tourist destinations – Science World. These functions covered a wide gamut – from celebrations convened by high-profile personalities, to large corporate conferences, to major public gatherings of up to 2000 people.
After completing her programs at BCIT Maureen joined the MS Society of Canada, BC & Yukon and used her attention to detail and passion for planning events in her role , in 2016 she was the provincial lead for all 18 Scotiabank MS Walks.
In addition to being a Red Seal Certified Chef, Maureen is also a graduate of BCIT with an Associate Certificate in Event Marketing with distinction and a certificate in Fundraising Management from BCIT. Maureen continues to work towards personal and professional growth by attending conferences such as Wedding MBA in Vegas annually and Go West in Edmonton.
Ana Brand
Senior Planner
A busy mom of three grown boys, Ana Brand has worked with Emerald Events for three years and has learned hands-on the art of planning and executing events. Prior to working with us, Ana has been a PAC leader for fifteen years organizing committees and many special events. Most recently Ana has been honored with a Shakti Award of Excellence for her Public Service. Her experience includes helping people with Celebration of Life events for three years; Ana is well-suited for this role as she has a great eye for detail and a heart of gold.
Sarah Bolton
Sarah has worked extensively in the world of trade shows as well as managed a venue at the Cloverdale Curling Rink where they hosted many weddings and milestone events. When Sarah has free time she loves to travel to exciting destinations such as her recent trip to Africa. Sarah is a social media expert and sits on the board of the Fraser Valley Event Planning Association.
