Celebrate Halloween 2020 the safest way

Halloween is almost here! And yes, let’s face it, Halloween 2020 is going to be a little different. That doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate with a fun but socially-distanced Halloween party of your own, though. We could all use a carefree get-together that gives us an excuse to dress up and celebrate with friends and family. All we have to do is make sure we play it very safe.

Here are our top tips, tricks, and treats for throwing a socially distant Halloween party. Let’s call it Quarantine-o-ween…

Tip #1: Opt for an outdoor mask-querade

You can still host a small party if you follow safety guidelines. Why not ask your guests to wear a costume that incorporates a mask, and give a prize for the best one? You can include a sanitizer station and create individual treat boxes instead food on a buffet table. Space out seating and make sure it’s a well-spaced and ventilated area, ideally outdoors.

Tip #2: Make it a virtual Halloween.

Zoom offers practically endless opportunities for costumed cocktail hours with all your best pals. You can choose a theme and ask everyone to dress up to make it more fun. You can play Halloween trivia, listen to spooky music, do virtual pumpkin carving, and more. Don’t forget the scary Zoom backgrounds– the options are endless!

Tip #3: Make it a scary movie night.

You could have a small outdoor movie night for a smaller group of friends, or just with the family. You can even watch a movie virtually with friends using Netflix Party.
